3) scared [ this can be easily confused with become stone like but in this word it is an implied meaning rather than a literal meaning.other words from the same root : petrol,petrology,petrichor]

4) pathos [meaning : feelings]

5) anthropos [meaning : mankind]

    cynosure means - something that strongly attracts attention..request you to please explain how does this word has a root "cyn" meaning dog..Also is cynic too derived from this root - cyn?

    Dear Harit,

    My apologies for a delayed reply.Cyn in Latin means dog and oura means tail...so literally it means a dog's tail.This is the shape of the ursa minor star which is the center star in the galaxy and hence probably the meaning of the word center of attraction.....
